Route	BABE LAKES – BANGIOC WATERFALL – HALONG BAY – CATBA ISLAND

Feature	Many reserves stretch in the Northeast Vietnam, where the roads are fine but not pleasant enough to open for mass tourism. However, thanks to this obstacle the routine and traditions of the hill tribes are still well maintained, and marvelous sights are remained beckoning more discovery.
Connection	Very easy and relaxing to combine with excursions to the Central and South Vietnam.

ITINERARY IN BRIEF

DAY 1: HANOI – BABE LAKES (-/L/D)
Leave Hanoi for Babe Lakes with stop at the Ethnology Museum for an overview of ethnical groups in Vietnam. Overnight in Babe Lakes.

DAY 2: BABE LAKES – CAO BANG (B/L)
Enjoy a boat trip and visits at BaBe before driving on to Cao Bang for overnight.

DAY 3: CAO BANG – BAN GIOC WATERFALL – CAO BANG (B/L)
Full day discovery of Ban Gioc Waterfall and Nguom NGao Cave. Stop en route at mountain villages and markets of ethnic groups. Overnight in Cao Bang.

DAY 4: CAO BANG – LANG SON – HALONG (B/L)
A long day with 9-hour driving to Lang Son passing War memorials and traces of the 1st Indochinese War. Stop at Lang Son for a bordergate market. Go on to Halong for overnight.

DAY 5: HALONG – CAT BA ISLAND – ROCK CLIMBING (B/L)
Crusing in Halong bay to enjoy its beauty, visit grottoes, go swimming, kayaking before reaching Cat Ba island. Overnight in Cat Ba.

DAY 6: CAT BA ISLAND – HAI PHONG – HANOI (B/L)
Express Boat from Cat Ba to Hai Phong seaport, transfer to Hanoi. End of services.
