Brief
itinerary
The Vietnamese
legends said that the totem of Viet nation is a couple, the fairy Au
Co and the dragon king Lac Long Quan. Their holly engagement had
given birth to a hundred sons, who later became the very first
“Viet” people. One day the sons divided into 2 groups - 50 had gone
uphill to cultivate, 50 down to the sea for fishing. The Vietnamese
proudly consider themselves “con Rồng - cháu Tiên” (the children of
Dragon and Fairy). Better than any legends, the myth has just spoken
of the original, typical inhabitation of the Vietnamese: surrounded
by the sea and mountains.
If we just follow
the sons of Dragon and Fairy, we will see . . . . .
DAY 1: ARRIVE in HANOI (-/-/D)
Welcome to Vietnam! City tour with a
visit to Museum of Ethnology and cyclo around the town. Overnight in
Hanoi.
DAY 2: HANOI -
HALONG BAY – TRAIN TO LAO CAI (B/L/D)
Early depart for Halong Bay, a World Heritage as designated by
UNESCO in 1994, take a boat trip for about 5 hours to cruise Halong
bay. Lunch of fresh seafood Late afternoon back to Hanoi for a
night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on the Train.
DAY 3: VISIT SAPA
(B/L)
Whole day in Sapa mountain town, visit
hill tribal villages. Overnight in Sapa.
DAY 4: A COLOURFUL WEEKLY MARKET IN BACHA
SURROUNDINGS – LAOCAI (B/L/D)
Enjoy the most
exciting weekly market of the hill tribes living surrounding Sapa.
Alternatives are Can Cau market on Saturday, Bac Ha market on Sunday
or Coc Ly market on Tuesday, take a boat on Chay river (during Coc
Ly market only). Take the night Train to Hanoi and overnight on the
Train. (lunch at the market; dinner in Laocai) )
DAY 5: HANOI DEPARTURE (B)
Arrive Hanoi about
06.00am. A short city tour to see the morning life of Hanoi and
visit the
Mausoleum and House of Ho Chi Minh before transfer to the airport
for your departure flight. End of services.
