Feature

This journey is only and strongly recommended to picture-hunting visitors and adventurers, who have long time in Northern Vietnam and love eco-tours, prefer to explore remote isolated areas and the customs of hill tribal people. The tour is all about contemplating the most splendid part of Vietnam, where concentrates magnificent but dangerous limestone mountain ranges, incredible terraced paddy fields, and dozens of various ethnics including H’mong, Tay, Black Thai, White Thai, Muong, Yao. 

Connection

Easy to combine with other excursion in the Central and South of Vietnam.

ITINERARY IN BRIEF

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN HANOI (D)
Welcome at the airport and transfer to Hanoi. Enjoy a show of Water Puppetry. Overnight in Hanoi.


DAY 2: HANOI - BABE LAKE (B/L/D)
Leave Hanoi for Babe Lakes with stop at Hanoi Ethnology Museum for an overview of ethnical groups in Vietnam. Overnight Babe Lakes.


DAY 3: BOAT TRIP ON BA BE LAKE – BAO LAC – CAO BANG (B/L/D)
Boat trip in BaBe lakes, stopover to visits to Puong Cave, Dau Dang waterfall and Fairy Pond. Driving to Bao Lac, Cao Bang for overnight.


DAY 4: BAO LAC - MEO VAC - DONG VAN – YEN MINH (B/L/D)
Enjoying a colorful mountain weekly market at Meo Vac and / or Dong van before heading to the Geopark with unique and magnificent scenery in Dong Van. Visit the house of H’mong King. Overnight in Yen Minh.


DAY 5: YEN MINH - HA GIANG – BAC QUANG – PHO RANG – BAC HA (B/L/D)
Visiting Yen Minh and hiking in ethnic villages nearby. Passing “heaven gate” at Quang Ba, then enjoying the beauty of Fairy Bosom Mountains in Quan Ba before going to Bac Ha for overnight.


DAY 6: BAC HA – COC LY – SAPA (B/L)
Morning joining bustling Tuesday market in Coc Ly, known local hilltribes. Heading to Sapa, the hub of most hectic activities in the Northwest, for overnight.


DAY 7: SAPA TREKKING (B)
Discovery of Flower gardens, Taphin valley of Red Dzao people, Lao Chai and Tavan villages by trekking thru terraced ricefields. Overnight in Sapa.
Optional: Stay at leisure in Sapa for own discovery.


DAY 8: SAPA – O QUY HO PASS - DIEN BIEN PHU (B/L)
Leaving Sapa for Dien Bien Phu old battlefield with stops en route to enjoy the magnificence of O Quy Ho Pass and visit the biggest Reservoir of hydropower plant of Vietnam. Overnight in Dien Bien Phu.


DAY 9: DIEN BIEN PHU (B/L)
Full-day discovery of historical site of Dien Bien Phu including A1 Hill, Dien Bien Museum, the Shelter of General De Castri and War Memorials. Overnight in Dien Bien.


DAY 10: DIEN BIEN PHU – SON LA – MAI CHAU (B/L/D)
Overland to Mai Chau via Son La with stopovers to visit villages en route. Visit tea farms at Moc Chau and beautiful valley inhabited by Thai ethnic people. Dinner and overnight at a house-on-stilts Mai Chau.


Day 11: MAI CHAU – XA LINH – HOA BINH - HANOI (B/L)
Hiking around ricefields in Mai Chau before coming to Xa Linh Sunday market of the “Blue” H’mong people with extremely graceful girls in strange hair style and hair switch. Back to Hanoi for overnight.
Optional: Stopover to visit the Hydropower plant in Hoabinh by the Black River.


Day 12: HANOI DEPARTURE (B)
Airport Transfer for departure flight.
End of services.
