Enjoying 4 World Heritages within 6 days, including the former Royal Palace of Viet people, the sanctuary of Cham nation, strolling in Hoian ancient town and boating in Phong Nha, one of the best grottoes worldwide, then discovering the extension of Vietnam territory in 16th century, and intermingling with local residents of Central Vietnam in their daily hectic life – definitely not bad at all!.

Connection

The Silk Air (Singapore – Danang) is having low-cost direct flights to Danang three times a week, so it is most convenient to connect this trip with Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. Multiple one-stop flights connect Danang with all around the world via Hanoi and Saigon everyday.

 

ITINERARY IN DETAIL

 

DAY 1: ARRIVE in DANANG – HOIAN (D)

Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival at Danang Airport, you will be welcomed by THREELAND tourguide. Have dinner in Danang before transferring to Hoian ancient town, which is known worldwide as a museum-in-the-open-air of Vietnam old days, and also a wonderful hub to shop for lanterns, silk products, or get our clothes tailored within a day. Dinner and overnight in Hoian.

Option 1: If you arrive in Danang by a mid-day flight, we will have time to visit the Cham Museum in Danang before transferring to Hoian to learn about the spectacular culture of the Cham nation, and prepare ourselves for the visit to Cham’s My Son Sanctuary next day, and the Marble museum.

Option 2: If you arrive in Danang in the evening, we will drive to Hoian directly as per the original program.

 

DAY 2: HOI AN – MY SON – HOI AN (B/L)

Being one of the five World Heritages of Vietnam as designated by UNESCO, Hoian ancient town is maintaining lots of characters of a former central seaport, before Danang took this role. This morning we can stroll around the tile-roofed Japanese Bridge, visiting taciturn Chinese Assembly Halls, ancient houses and Trading houses of Hoian to understand how the Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese architectural styles have mixed up here after the presence of traders from all these countries. Lunch with Hoian “cao lau” and other Hoian specialties. Afternoon drive overland to My Son to discover the hidden treasure of the Cham nation that once brightfully developed in this area. Thanks to the beauty and secrets of constructing these Cham Towers, My Son had been also recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritages. Back to Hoian for overnight. (Dinner at your own arrangement for flexibility).

 

DAY 3: HOI AN AT LEISURE (B)

At your leisure to enjoy the low-paced ambience of Hoian deeply, or relax and have sunbath at Cua Dai Beach (4km from the ancient town and reachable by bicycles). Overnight in Hoian (no services provided).

 

DAY 4: HOIAN– HUE (B/L/D)

Morning drive early northward to Hue via Hai Van (the “Ocean Cloudy”) mountain pass, with stopover to visit the Lang Co beach to enjoy miraculous seascape. The 1st accredited Cultural World Heritage of Vietnam, Hue is highlighted by the old royal architectural works and the most traditional Vietnamese lifestyle. Upon our arrival in Hue, visit the Royal Citadel, Forbidden City and Hue Royal Museum. From Hue, continue to Linh Mu pagoda, the biggest pagoda in the vicinity and visit the Tomb of King Minh Mang. Intermingle with Hue people at their bustling Dong Ba market. (Lunch in a garden restaurant between visits; Dinner with Hue folk music on a boat flowing on the Perfume River). Overnight in Hue.

 

DAY 5: HUE – PHONG NHA – HUE or QUANG BINH (B/L/D)

After an early breakfast, head to Dong Hoi on the way to visit Phong Nha Cave. Stop en route at the former DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) during the Vietnam War to have a look at historical sites – Parallel number 17 at Hien Luong Bridge, Vinh Moc Tunnel, etc. which had divided North and South Vietnam for 21 years. Take a short visit at Vinh Moc Tunnel to learn about the life of the Vietnamese during the wartime. Lunch in Dong Hoi before taking a boat trip to visit Phong Nha Cave, one of the best cave worldwide, visit different grottoes and the main grand cave.

Option 1: If your flight on DAY 6 is at mid-day, we will be back to Hue (about 3hour driving) after the visit. Dinner and overnight in Hue.

Option 2: If your flight on DAY 6 is in late afternoon, we will stay in a hotel at the beach in Quang Binh and enjoy swimming and relaxing this late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Quang Binh.

 

DAY 6: FROM HUE or QUANG BINH driving to DANANG – DEPARTURE (B)

Back to Danang via Hai Van Tunnel. Visit Cham Museum in Danang, where we can learn and understand better about the My Son Sanctuary of Cham Nation (just if you did not have time for this Museum on DAY 1 upon arrival). Stroll around Han market and at your leisure for relax and shopping until transfer to Danang airport for your departure flight. (Lunch and dinner at your own arrangement for more leisure time).
