Hanoi, Hoi An Among Best Asian Destinations
Recently, according to an online poll
conducted by Smart Travel Asia, a prestigious travel
magazine, Vietnamese tourism is highlighted with Hanoi and
Hoi An listed among the top ten most attractive tourist
destinations in Asia.
Hanoi and Hoi An ancient town in
the central province of Quang Nam continue be named among
the top ten destinations in Asia this year by Hong
Kong-based travel and trade journal, Smart Travel Asia. The
magazine’s representative presented the title to the
department in Hanoi on August 22.
Smart Travel Asia's list was based on votes cast online by
more than one million readers worldwide from May to July
2011.The destination shortlist was compiled by travel
journalists. Smart Travel Asia has over one million readers
worldwide who are frequent travelers. The Best in Travel
poll, now in its sixth year, allows readers to vote for
their favorites among thousands of options in Asia.
According to an online poll conducted by the magazine,
regarded as a leading authority on the regional travel
industry, Hanoi remains in sixth position, as recorded last
year, while Hoi An in Quang Nam Province is rated seventh.
Bali island in Indonesia ranks first, followed by Phuket in
Thailand and Hong Kong. The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi
and the Nam Hai in Hoi An shared top billing as Asia’s best
leisure properties for 2011.
As stated by the Vietnam Department of Culture, Sports and
Tourism, this reward will help the country’s tourism sector
asserts its image and position in the eyes of domestic and
international friends. By preparing properly and making a
note of things-to-do before arriving, there is no reason
that visitors cannot take full advantage of Hanoi and Hoi An
