VAT refund for tourists in Vietnam
 Under
a draft by the Ministry of Finance, international tourists
will receive value-added tax refunds for goods they
purchased in Vietnam. Namely, foreign tourists who buy goods
at certain airports, tourism areas and shops in big cities
will receive a 10 % refund on the tax they paid. Each
purchase valued at more than 2 million VND (96 US$) per
receipt which in issue within 30 days of their exit from
Vietnam will benefit from the tax refund.
VAT is a form of consumption tax. From
the perspective of the buyer, it is a tax on the purchase’s
price. Although Vietnam’s shopping center is not famous for
super shopping centers there are a wide range of beautiful
souvenir shops, traditional dress tailor shops, boutique
shops in ancient quarters, in addition bustling HCMC offers
luxury shopping centers for visitors. Therefore, travelers
always pay more or less for some goods which can make your
trip-expense higher. VAT refunding is such big news for
shopping-lovers. Since then, tourists traveling to Vietnam
especially big cities such as: HCMC, Hanoi, Danang, and so
forth where offer shopping centers have a super big savings
for their trips.
Remember take your receipt and you will
be repay 10% of commodity value.
