A codeshare agreement between Vietnam Airlines and Etihad Airways
 On
Wednesday October 2011, Vietnam Airlines national flag
carrier and Etihad Airways national carrier of the United
Arab Emirates went to a code-share agreement which becomes
effective by 30 October 2011.
Accordingly, passengers of Etihad Airways are allowed to
connect directly form Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi
on Vietnam Airlines daily services. Similarly, Vietnam
Airlines guests from these destinations will be able to
connect through Bangkok to Abu Dhabi, Etihad’s hub.
Vietnam airlines and Etihad Airways are both national
carriers operating daily flights with wide networks. Etihad
Airways began in 2003. Until 2010 this Airlines has carried
more than 7 million passengers. Etihad offers double daily
services from Abu Dhabi to 72 cities in the Middle East,
Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America, with a
fleet of 61 Airbus and Boeing aircraft and 100 aircraft on
order, including 19 airbus A380s.
By new code-share agreement, Thailand – HCMC, Hanoi
traveling becomes more convenient and easier. Long haul
visitors from the Middle East or Europe will have one more
choice of flight route to Vietnam
