route between Vietnam and London to be launched by Vietnam

to the increase of people traveling between Vietnam and
England, the National carrier Vietnam Airlines has planed to
launch direct flights from Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City to
London by the end of this year. This airline route comes
from Vietnam airline’s purpose to expand the route network
and connect cities in European: Amsterdam, Frankfurt,
Moscow, Paris, Prague and Rome…
At present, travelers from the UK usually fly from London to
Bangkok, Singapore or Hong Kong to catch a connection to Ho
Chi Minh City or Hanoi. It makes inconvenience and wastes of
connecting time. A non - stop flight could be such a good
way for travelers.
The increase of air travel demand between these two
countries is based on tighten economic and trade relations
over the past few years. At this time, the United Kingdom is
one of the leading trade partners of Vietnam in the European
Union, said Mr Pham Ngoc Minh - President and Chief
Executive Officer of Vietnam Airlines.
As a statistic, there are nearly 90,000 English tourists
coming to Vietnam last year - 2010. It is an increase of 28
percent over 2009.
The direct flight does not only create a chance for the
travelers but also benefit the Vietnamese community in the
United Kingdom, including more than 7,000 students and
40,000 other currently living and working there.
Four flights per weeks are planed to be launched at first
and this number will increase up to seven flights weekly in
2014 with Boeing B777 - 200ER to fly from Noi Bai and Tan
Son Nhat airports - Vietnam to Heathrow and Gatwick airports
- England.
